Here’s a look at what we will be doing the week of 11/25.
Spelling- The test for the lesson 10 words will be given on Wednesday this week. The new words for lesson 10 were: us, sun, but, fun, bus, run. The words should have been written 3x each by Tuesday. The vocabulary (“R” book) words were: eat, put, give, small, one, take. We will begin book 3 after Thanksgiving, and the children will begin writing sentences for some of their words in their “S” books.
Phonics- lesson 10: short u; final blends; -ump
Language Arts- a, an, and the
Reading: The tests for lesson 10 (A Cupcake Party) will be given on Wednesday, 11/27. After Thanksgiving, we will be back to a Friday test schedule!
Math- We will not begin chapter 5 until after the Thanksgiving break. We will do some fun Math activities with a turkey theme this week.

1AA News
Our Turkey Trot fundraiser will be this Wednesday after our Feast. Those participating will “Trot” around the field across from the school to raise money for Lutheran Social Services-The New Life Center. Please consider sending in $3 and the permission slip so your child can participate and help those in need, if you have not already done so.
We will be making a fun Thanksgiving craft with our 4th grade friends on Tuesday!
I would like to wish all of you a very happy, blessed Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for. I am very thankful for my wonderful first grade students!
