Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing the week of 10/28.
Spelling-We are up to lesson 7, and the words are: in, will, did, sit, six, big. The vocabulary (“R” book) words are: animal, of, how, some, make, why. The children will write their 12 words 3x each by Wednesday. There will be a Spelling test on lesson 7 Friday.
Phonics- words with short i; r blends; -ip words
Language Arts- commas in a series
Reading: We will read the story How Animals Communicate. The children will read it again at home. There will be Reading tests on Friday. We will be learning about using a glossary.
Math- addition strategies- Test next Thursday (11/7)
Religion- Daily devotions and Bible stories from religion book 2.
Social Studies- Unit 1 test this Tuesday(10/29). Books were sent home last week. Review highlighted vocabulary words in book 1

Our Star of the Week is Jacob!
It’s Spirit Week! A memo went home about what to wear each day of the week. Monday is Pajama Day!
We are having a Fall Pumpkin Party on Thursday (orange day). Thank you to our class moms for organizing it and to those who will be sending in goodies!
If you have not sent in the class party money yet ($8) please send it in this week!
October morning work folders will be going home.
Ask your child if they are in need of any school supplies (pencils, glue, etc.) and send them in as soon as possible.
Please remember to check your child’s folder each night and remove the papers.
