Our class will explore the color YELLOW this week. We have many exciting yellow colored activities planned. We will be exploring yellow themed play centers. We will enjoy books from the “Curious George” series. We know that every good little monkey loves yellow bananas, so we will be creating banana yellow finger paintings and cooking banana bread and banana cream pie for Curious George. Math will include counting bananas, monkeys and mixing and measuring ingredients for our banana bread. Our class science project this week will be to observe a banana as it ages. We will explore the principle of “Decay”. Music and Movement this week will include the songs, “Mr. Sun”, “The Rainbow Colors Song” and “Five Little Monkeys.” Our sensory table will be filled with yellow rice and there will also be yellow playdough available. Thursday and Friday will be our color days! Please don’t forget to wear yellow and bring something yellow from home for show and tell.
At Jesus time this week, we will learn how God made the sunshine. We will sing songs of praise including “My God Is So Great” and “Jesus’ Love Is a Bubbling Over”.
As a reminder, we have a field trip planned to White Post Farms on Wednesday, October 9th. Please make sure you have sent in your permission slip and payment.
