Another exciting week of Kindergarten ahead! We are welcoming October this week, but not the fall weather just yet! Your children may continue to wear the summer uniform due to the warm weather! πŸ™‚

Language Arts-

We are continuing to learn in our Journeys Language Arts book. Each day we open with identifying sounds, rhyming, and counting syllables. This week we will review letters Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss, and Tt. Our topic for the week is school, why do we have school rules, friends at school, what we can do at school, etc. As we read our stories this week we will focus on understanding characters, authors purpose, and predicting.

Our second sight word we are learning is β€œlike”, we will learn how to say it, spell it, and most importantly identify it throughout the stories we read and sentences we make.

Last week we were learning that words that name people are nouns and this week we will learn that words that name places are also nouns. We will identify different places and label them as nouns.

Math- All the children were very excited to take their first math test and they did wonderfully! This week we will begin Chapter 2, Comparing Numbers to 5.

Jesus Time- We are diving into our One in Christ series, God Loves People.

The season of fall is here, although the weather might not show it, therefore, we will be discussing words that are associated with fall, as well as fruits and vegetables. We will also be reading our first fall Scholastic and exciting fall read alouds! Can’t wait for another great week!
