This past week, our 3rd through 8th-grade students began their Jump Rope for Heart unit. This unit teaches our 3rd through 5th-grade students how to successfully jump rope as well as some fun trick jumps to practice on their own. Our Middle School students work on trick jumps as well as long rope games and activities. All students learn why jumping rope is important for heart health and can be used as a quick and inexpensive way to exercise. Our lessons will continue this week as well.

This past week and continuing this week, our Kindergarten through 2nd-grade students have been participating in cooperative games that also teach them about exercise. The big skill we learned this week was the Plank pose and strived to understand why exercises should be done correctly in order not to harm our bodies.
