READING- Last week and this week our essential question is, “Why do people use wheels?” To help us answer the question we will read, Good Morning Digger, What Do Wheels Do All Day? and Wheels Long Ago and Today. Our high frequency word is “to” and the “p” sound is our phonics connection. Continue to practice blending using, t, p, s, m, c, and short a, to form new words. After the Christmas break we will have a review week and  the following week there will be a Reading test on Unit 2.

MATH- We have started Chapter 5 which teaches addition. We are learning to tell stories about joining groups and read a Math addition sentence.

RELIGION- We will continue with the story of Jesus’ birth.

HANDWRITING- We are writing our first letter on the lines, “L-l.” As we learn to place letters on the lines correctly I will expect students to write them correctly on all assignments.

SOCIAL STUDIES- We will continue discussing holiday traditions.
