Week 15
“All things good to know are difficult to learn.” – Greek Proverb
We will be rehearsing for the school play many times this week, so our schedule will be modified quite a bit. Please help your child with any lines that need to be memorized. Also, please make sure that your child has his or her costume. The notice about costumes went home over 2 weeks ago from Mr. DeVries. If you have any questions about costumes please contact him directly.
We have just started the second trimester. Please make sure that your child brings back his or her completed work folder on a regular basis. This is also a good time to make sure your child has all the necessary school supplies. Many of the students need new pencils.
Math
We are having our Chapter 5 tests on Tuesday, December 11th. We are also having 6 as a factor test on that day. Taking the time to memorize multiplication facts in 3rd grade is so important to your child’s success in Math in future grades. Please review them nightly.
ELA
We are not having any ELA tests (including spelling) this week. Instead we will be working in our Sadlier vocabulary books. Here is a link to additional practice and games associated with our book.
The students are also working on independent reading and routinely reflecting on their reading in their Reading Notebook. Reading Notebooks are due every week.
Science
We are learning about push and pull forces, and how movement is affected by weak and strong forces.S
Religion
I have also included the link here Third Grade Memory Work and due dates. Our Wednesday will be on the Third Commandment and its meaning.
The Third Commandment
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.
