There will be a vocabulary test on unit 5 on Friday, November 30th. Much of the homework is vocabulary.
Please be aware that the November Book Project is due Tuesday, December 4th.

ELA Grade 6: Besides vocabulary, this week we writing a Christmas story. As our Jewish neighbors begin to celebrate Hanukkah this week, we are going to read a story about a Jewish miracle ” Zlateh the Goat” by Isaac Bashevis Singer. At the end of the week, we will write a persuasive essay. Students will also look at fragments.

ELA Grade 7: In addition to vocabulary, students in seventh grade will be writing a Christmas poem using alliteration. They will read a story, “Ribbons” by Laurence Yep. We will write a persuasive essay. Finally, students will study sentence fragments and how to correct them.

ELA Grade 8: This week we will begin by writing a persuasive essay, eighth graders will write a Christmas poem using color as symbolism. The students are going to read a story “Stop the Sun,” by Gary Paulsen. Through the story they will learn about that the war and PTSD. Students will also review fragments.

Religion 7: We will be reading about God’s angels in the bible which is part of Unit 3. In class a students will work on a small angel project. There will be a memory quiz on verse Hebrews on page 65 in the workbook on Thursday, November 29.
