There will be a spelling test on Unit 5 on Friday, November 9th.

Last week students were given notice to select a book to read independently for the month of November. This book project will be due on Tuesday, December 4th.

Much of the homework this week is adverbs.

6th Grade ELA: Students will read a short story, “The Tale.” They will plot the story line on an exposition chart, as well discuss the conflict. They will review adjectives and study adverbs. At the end of the week, they will create an essay from an article.

7th Grade ELA:
Seventh graders will have a final quiz on the last chapter of the book The Wednesday Wars on Mon. Nov 5th. We will look at themes in the novel and create an essay about one. The students will review adjectives and begin adverbs. If time permits we will read a science fiction short story, “All Summer in a Day.”

8th Grade ELA: The eighth grade students will review adjectives and begin to work on adverbs. They will start to read Flowers for Algernon.

7th Grade Religion: Students are finishing work on unit 2, which explores the Reformation and changes to the Christian churches. They will receive a review packet this week for a test on Tuesday, November 13. There is a memory quiz on Thursday.
