Math Grade 6

This week we will continue with module 9, which covers exponents and order of operations (PEMDAS).   Later in the week we will be reviewing Terra Nova test taking strategies. Extra help is Wednesday mornings at 7:30. There will be a quiz on Tuesday, 4/10 on PEMDAS.

 

Math Grade 7

The students are beginning statistics. This week we will explore sample and populations, discussing bias and unbiased samples. We will also be reviewing measures of center, such as mean, median, and mode. Later in the week we will be reviewing test- taking strategies for the Terra Nova exams. There are not any tests or quizzes this week.   Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:30.

 

Pre-Algebra

This week we will begin Pythagorean Theorem. We will explore how to apply this formula to both two-dimensional and 3 dimensional figures. Extra help is Wednesday mornings at 7:30. There are not any tests or quizzes this week.

 

Algebra

This week we are continuing with our next chapter on Quadratics. Students will explore the axis of symmetry, vertex, finding the roots, and solving quadratics using the zero property. This week our focus will be on completing the square and using the quadratic formula. There are not any tests or quizzes this week.
