Greetings and Happy Spirit Week 2017! I know we are all looking forward to some friendly competition, and may the best class win. Even with all of the activities going on this week, we do have to work amidst the play. Here’s what’s going on this week.
7th Social Studies
This week, seventh grade will complete chapter 2, and will begin chapter three, focusing on the settlement of the English colonies in North America. The chapter 2 test will be on Tuesday, and extra help will be available Tuesday morning, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
8th Social Studies
After spending the last two months studying the causes and effects of the Civil War and Reconstruction, we will be switching gears and will begin studying Western Expansion. We will begin with looking at the growth of the mining and railroad industries, and then we will study how these industries affected the Native American population in the West.
8th Religion
The eighth grade will be tested on Unit 1, on Wednesday. They received their study guide on Thursday, and it has also been posted on the Google Classroom. The test primarily focuses on the Book of Genesis, and the beginning of Exodus. Also, the students should be completing their Tough Times Tool Kit project, which is due on Monday, October 30th. They should submit their project through the Google Classroom.
