Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s Notes!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!

Spelling- The new words for this week are: so, go, home, hole, no, rope, joke, bone, stove, poke. Since there are now 10 spelling words, I will only be including 4 of the “R” book words on the spelling tests. They will still need to be able to read all of the “R” book words fluently for the vocabulary portion of the reading tests. The children will write their spelling words 3x each by Tuesday. They should write 8 sentences by Wednesday. Spelling test will be on Friday.

Phonics- long o and u

Language Arts- questions; suffixes; narrative writing

Reading: We have started our 4th reading book! The story this week is Let’s go to the Moon! Please have your child read it at home before the test. We have completed the first of two reading workbooks, which was sent home. The “R” book words are: around, bring, show, because, carry, think, before, and light. The reading tests will be given on Friday.

Math- comparing numbers: using the >,<,= signs

I will be giving Math benchmark tests this week to see how much the children have developed their math skills since September.
