READING- Our essential question is, ” What do animals do when the weather changes?” To help us answer the question we will read and discuss the following stories, Storm is Coming, and Snow. We’ll also read the informational text selection, How Water Changes, and in our Readers the stories, I Can Nap and Tap With Me. The students will also practice hearing words that begin and end with the “n” sound, use the sounds learned thus far to blend to read and spell new words, and read our high frequency words, “with” and “my.”  In grammer the class will identify a verb in a sentence, and in comprehension learn to draw conclusions.

MATH- The class will complete Chapter 5 on addition by learning number pairs for 9 and 10. There will be a MATH TEST next TUESDAY, 1/24. Review pages will be sent home at the end of the week along with a practice test.

RELIGION- Our story this week is “The Baptism of Jesus.”

SOCIAL STUDIES- We will continue our discussion on Martin Luther King, Jr. and also learn about the President’s job.

SCIENCE- Our topic will be to identify how seasons change, and how weather affects our environment.
