We are looking forward to exploring the color “green” this week. We have many green themed activities planned. Our green centers will include green play dough, green blocks, green writing materials and green toy cars and manipulatives. This week we will read a Green Poem, Go Away Big Green Monster by Ed Emberly, Little Blue and Little Yellow and create a circle diagram listing all the green things we can think of. We will mix yellow and blue paint to create green at the easel and then construct big green monsters with our finger paintings. We are learning the fingerplays, “Five Little Pumpkins”, “Leaves Are Falling” and dancing to the songs, “Turning, Turning” and “A Tootie Ta”. We continue to count classmates and calendar numbers and will create a math graph with green leaves. Don’t forget to wear green on Wednesday and Thursday. Our special snack will include a variety of green choices to taste.
