Greetings! Here are the plans for the new week ahead.
7th Social Studies
This week the students will be finishing up chapter 2 with the last lesson on French and Dutch exploration and settlement of North America. There will be a test early next week. Please check back later in the week for the full detail and study guide. The students will also be responsible for reading pages 3-35 in The Light in the Forest.
8th Social Studies
To start the week, we will discuss the first 45 pages of Chasing Lincoln’s Killer. They will then be responsible for reading up to page 100 for Monday, October 24th. On Tuesday, we will begin our study of life in the Old West. I think the students will especially enjoy debunking the myths that are so popular in western movies and television shows.
8th Religion
This week will study the call of Moses and the Plagues and Passover in Egypt. The students will also learn about the parallel between Holy Communion and the Passover celebration. These last two lesson will end Unit 1, and the students will prepare for the unit test. Please check back later this week for full details. Also, the Quarter 1 project, the Tough Times Toolkit is due Monday, October 24th. The memory verse for this week is Romans 8:28, which can be found on page 25 in the student book.
