On Tuesday, I am sending home a note regarding class parties. Please complete the form and return it to me with the $10 as soon as possible. We are very grateful to have Moriah, Alex, Myles, and Ryan’s moms be our class parents this year.
Social Studies: We are studying the globe and learning about the prime meridian and the different hemispheres.
Math: We are beginning our chapter on representing and interpreting data. We will have a quiz on Thursday.
ELA: Our spelling words this week are lay, Real, trail, sweet, today, dream, seem, tea, treat, afraid, leave, bait, screen, speed, paint, please, yesterday, and explain On Tuesday we are having a reading comprehension test on The Trial of Cardigan Jones. The target skills we are working on are conclusions and author’s word choice. We are also having a vocabulary test on the following words: trial, jury, convince, guilty, pointed, honest, murmur, and stand. The test will also include choosing the correct definition for a word. We are also having a grammar test on identifying different kinds of sentences: command, exclamation, statement, and questions.
Science: We are focusing on the main parts of the plants, and why they need leaves, roots and stems.
Religion: We are studying who is God and what is the Bible. Our second religion memory test is this week. It will be on the books of the bible.. Genesis – Esther.
