Math Grade 6

This week we are exploring how to classify numbers. We will be focusing on ordering rational numbers this week.  The students will also be working on their first group lab activity in class.

There are not any tests or quizzes this week.

Extra help will be on Wednesdays from 7:45-8:15

 

 

Math Grade 7

This week we will finish up Module 2, which covers applying integer operations to PEMDAS. At the end of the week we will begin to explore operations involving rational numbers of fractions and decimals.

 

Quiz, Tuesday, 9/27 on Module 2.

Extra help will be on Wednesdays from 7:45-8:15

Pre-Algebra

We will begin the year exploring rational and irrational numbers. Students will be able to find the square roots of both rational and irrational numbers and then classify them accordingly. They will use this to approximate square roots.  A review sheet for our first unit test will go home on Tuesday.

Quiz, Monday, 9/26 on simplifying non-perfect square roots and solving square root equations.

Test, Wednesday, 9/28- number systems-converting fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions, ordering rational and irrational numbers, classifying numbers, simplifying radicals, solving radical equations.

 

Algebra

We are starting Chapter 3 on Inequalities. We will explore solving multi-step inequalities, compound inequalities, and absolute value inequalities.
