Greetings! I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer. We are now getting back into the swing of things, and I look forward to working with each of you. Here on my blog, you will find weekly updates for 7th grade social studies, 8th grade social studies, and 8th grade religion. I will post the topics of study, study guides, memory verses, test announcements, and study guides. If you have any questions, you can always contact me via email at [email protected].

7th Social Studies

In seventh grade social studies, we will start at the very beginning: the various theories of the first people traveled to North and South America. The first chapter will then go into all of the different cultures and events that influenced exploration of the Americas, as well as the cultural traditions of the first Americans (Native Americans).

8th Social Studies

In eighth grade, we will start off by reviewing where we left off in seventh grade- the differences between the North and South. This will lead us into our first unit of study: The Civil War. This military and cultural conflict is truly a pivotal event in American history and continues to influence the country in which we live.

8th Religion

In religion, we too are starting at the very beginning: Genesis 1. From there, we will work through the Bible in Chronological order. We will especially focus on the life lessons that can be applied to our lives as modern Christians.

“Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12
