SCIENCE – Flowers: We have dissected an Easter lily; dug up dandelions; smelled the hyacinths; and learned about the parts of a flower.
Reptiles: From dinosaurs to turtles; a toad came to visit during T week: we actually touched scales; and learned how we can save sea turtles.
Insects: we are waiting for our lady bugs.
IN SCHOOL FIELD TRIP – The Waterfront Center of Oyster Bay presented a workshop, “From Sea Creatures to Seashells”; it was a hands on experience with seashells and the animals they have housed.
SOCIAL STUDIES – Transportation: Boats, Trucks, Buses,Trains, Bikes, and Skates
Men at Work
Since our work is play, we have had trucks in the sand, trucks in the hall, truck table puzzles, truck floor puzzles plus truck projects.
LITERATURE – Our author is Virginia Burton
We will be reading: CHOO, CHOO; THE LITTLE HOUSE; MAYBELLE, THE CABLE CAR; MIKE MULLIGAN AND HIS STEAM SHOVEL; KATIE AND THE BIG SNOW plus many others.
LETTERS AND SOUNDS – Luke and Gurnaaz had the “Tt” bucket and Andrew and Kaavya had the “Hh” bucket and of course the all did a wonderful job with it. Our homework has been to review and practice all our letters and sounds.
