Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling- The children will be tested on the lesson 23 words from Whistle for Willie on Tuesday.
The new words for lesson 24 are: soon, new, noon, zoo, boot, too, moon, blew, soup, you. The children will write their 10 spelling words 3x each for homework by Wednesday. They should write 10 sentences due by Friday. Encourage your child to be creative! Their writing skills have grown so much! The spelling test on the lesson 24 words will be next Monday, 4/18.
Phonics- oo, ou, ew, ue
Language Arts- indefinite pronouns
Reading: The tests for lesson 23 will be given on Tuesday.
We will read the story, A Tree is a Plant on Wednesday. The children will read the story again at home. There will be Reading tests on this story next Monday, 4/18.
Math- Chapter 12- 2 dimensional shapes
Science- chapter 6- Land, Water and Air
Social Studies- needs and wants
Weekly Reader- Insects in the Rain
1AA News
The children in grades 1 through 8 will be taking the Terra Nova achievement tests next week at Trinity Lutheran. There is no way to study for these tests, but the children should get a good night’s sleep and eat a well balanced breakfast to help with their performance on the tests.
Tuesday is the last day of the third quarter. Report cards can be viewed online next Monday. If there are any concerns or you would like to discuss your child’s report, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday.
