Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!
Spelling- The new words for this week are: far, arm, yard, art, jar, bar, barn, bark, card, yarn, night, few, story, world. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework by Tuesday. They should write sentences by Wednesday. Use at least 5 words in each sentence. The children also know that they can only begin 1 sentence with the word “I”. Spelling Test will be on Friday.
Phonics- r-controlled vowels ar, or, ore; phonograms -ar,
-ore
Language Arts- subject pronouns
Reading: We will read the story, Frog and Toad Together- The Garden this week. The “R” book words are few, window, shall, night, noise, world, loudly, story. Reading tests will be given on Friday.
Math- Chapter 10- picture graphs; tally charts
Science- Chapter 5- Food Chains: How do living things get food in a rain forest and marsh?
Social Studies- People keep America Free; review for test on unit 3 which will be given next Wednesday, 3/23- book 3 will be sent home to study

Happy 7th Birthday to Isaiah and Noah!
Our Easter Brunch for the children will be in the classroom on Tuesday morning, 3/22. Each child will bring in 1 item for our brunch. A note was sent home with your item listed. Please send in all non-perishables by Friday, 3/18. Thank you!
Please remember to check your child’s homework every evening, making sure it is completed and done correctly, then sign or initial each page, (including the “S” book)! Encourage your child to complete all work in their neatest handwriting. The children have been getting creative with their sentence writing! The spelling sentences must be completed by Wednesday of each week.
Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday.
