If anyone has seen the weather forecast for this week, you have seen that God is going bless us with a beautiful week. At Trinity, this week is also shaping up to be a beautifully blessed week.

8th Social Studies

This week the students will be finishing up World War I and will be taking the test on chapter 21 on Friday. As I have said many times before, World War II gets all the attention, but World War I is almost more important. The students learned that ideas that seem “good on paper” can lead to major conflicts and massive destruction. They have also learned that a good peace treaty at the end of a conflict is essential. The study guide for chapter 21 may be viewed here.

7th Social Studies

Seventh grade is also finishing up their current chapter and will also take their chapter 7 test on Friday. In this chapter the students learned about the issues facing the U.S. as it was a young, newly-independent nation, and how it set the framework for the system of government that we are still using. You may view the study guide here.

8th Pre-Algebra

The pre-algebra class is currently learning various ways to find the solution of a system of equations. All this means, is that if the equations are graphed, where would the lines cross? We will review each strategy more this week: Elimination, graphing, substitution, multiplication and elimination. There will be a quiz/test on Module 8 early next week. Extra help is every Thursday morning at 7:45 a.m. I encourage you to bring your child – every bit of review helps. Also, math homework is given every day, if you do not see homework coming home, double check with your child.

On Wednesday, the students will take the Unit 3 test. Later in the week, the students will learn about what happened to the Kingdom of Israel after Solomon’s death. The Unit 3 study
