READING-  Our topic this week is “Why do people use wheels?” We will read and discuss the following stories to answer the question: Good Morning Digger, What Do Wheels Do All Day? and Wheels Long Ago and Today. Our high frequency word to read is “to,” we’ll identify the “P-p” sound in words, learn how to use number words as adjectives, blend sounds to form words, practice fluency, and talk about the use of synonyms. The class will read the stories, “P-p” and I like Animals in their readers.

MATH- We continue to solve and write Math addition problems. Your child should understand and be able to use the Math terms, “add,” “plus,” and “is equal to.”

RELIGION- This week’s Bible story is “Simeon and Anna See Jesus.”

SOCIAL STUDIES- The class will discuss how Dr. Martin Luther King changed our world.

HANDWRITING- Capital and lower case “P-p” is the letter we will practice this week.
