Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling- The new words for this week are: came, make, brave, late, gave, shape. The “R” book words are four, over, two, five, starts, watch, into, three. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework by Tuesday. They should write 6 sentences by Wednesday. Test will be given on Friday.
Phonics- long a, soft c, g, -dge, -ake, -ace
Language Arts- We will read the story The Big Race this week. The children will read it again at home. Some of the skills include expression when reading, informative writing, verbs, conclusions, cause and effect. The tests will be given on Friday.
Math- comparing numbers- greater than; less than; equal to
Science- 1/19-Test on Chapter 3
Study guides will be sent home this week.
Social Studies- this Tuesday, 1/12-Test on unit 2
Book 2 was sent home last week. Review the highlighted vocabulary words with your child.
Religion- Life of Jesus
