The Pre-K presented their “Christmas Offering ” to our Lord Jesus on Monday, December 14, 2015 with their parents in attendance. The service was titled “Light a Candle for Jesus”. Pastor Henn spoke to the children about the candles of the Advent Wreath. At the conclusion of the service, the parents and children adjourned to the classroom for a festive repast with the arrival of Santa Claus himself.
As we approach the Christmas recess we are continuing to work with our Christmas vocabulary and finish up the “Christmas Secrets” for our families.
We are having a birthday party for Baby Jesus. Each student is asked to bring a layette item to place in the manger. At the conclusion all items will be donated to the Lutheran Community Services for less fortunate babies here on Long Island.
We are continuing to work with many different authors and illustrators of the various holiday literature: Jan Brett-THE WILD CHRISTMAS REINDEER, THE CHRISTMAS TROLLS, and THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, and Eric Carle- DREAM SNOW as well as THE NUTCRACKER and THE POLAR EXPRESS.
