Happy Monday, everyone! We are now 11 days away from Christmas! With that in mind, we have only seven school days in which to tie up loose ends with each of the classes.

8th Social Studies

This week eighth grade is reviewing for the test on Chapter 18. This test will have the usual objective questions, multiple choice, etc., but it will also have a document based question as the essay. The students will begin the document work in class, so they will have ample time to complete the test on Friday. I will post a copy of the study guide for the objective questions later in the week. Extra help will be both Thursday and Friday mornings.

7th Social Studies

Seventh grade is also wrapping up their unit of study before the Christmas break. They will take their test on Chapter 4 on Friday. I will post the study guide later this week. Extra help will be both Thursday and Friday mornings.

8th Pre-Algebra

The pre-algebra class will begin Module 6 this week, in which they will learn about how to use functions. This unit stems directly from their work with the linear equation. As we only have one week before our Christmas break begins, we will not complete the entire module, but there will be a short quiz on the skills covered in lessons 1 and 2 most likely on Tuesday, December 22nd.

8th Religion

In class this week, the students are learning about the struggles the Israelites faced as they were entering the Promised Land. On Friday, the students will begin presenting their House of Worship design projects. I look forward to seeing all of their creative ideas!
