READING- We continue to focus on descriptive words as a means to communicate more effectively in verbal and written form. The high frequency words that we will review are, “I, the, and, see, like.” The genre to be introduce and discussed is poetry. Poems that will be read are: “Picnic Day,” “Here Are my Eyes,” “The Storm,” and “Five Wonderful Senses.” In grammer we’ll learn to use a capital letter for words at the beginning of a sentence and a period at the end of a telling sentence.
MATH- We’ll discover different ways to make ten, and learn to “count up” from any given number 1-10.
RELIGION- We continue to discuss Advent and preparing for Jesus. We will also hear the story of a Bishop who lived long ago named Nicholas, and how he shared with others as God wants us all to do.
SCIENCE- Using our Weekly Reader we’ll learn how scientists give bear cubs a winter checkup!
HANDWRITING- The class will practice writing capital and lower case “I-i” on the lines.
SOCIAL STUDIES- We will continue to practice memorizing our personal information.
