Over the past few weeks the students have taken benchmark exams in Math and ELA.  As a school we are collecting the data from these exams to help us with future instruction.  The exams will be given again, mid-year, and then finally in June, to monitor students progress.

Week:  19-23

Spelling: bloom, cookbook, tool, shampoo, put, wool, stool, proof, prove, group, brook, foolish, bush, crooked, booth, raccoon, hook, groom, roof, soup Challenge Words: bulletin, cocoon, cushion, proofread, marooned

Grammar: Action verbs, helping verbs, linking verbs

Reading: Test on “Invasion from Mars”; Focus Story: “Coming Distractions: Questioning Movies”; Informational Text “How Do They Do That?”

Writing: Writing fictional narratives

Math: Test on Chapter 2; Start Chapter 3, Multiplying by tens

Science: Ch. 6 Lesson 3 What Are Air Masses?

Social Studies:  Ch. 2 Lesson 3 The Iroquois League

Religion: daily devotions, weekly Dear God letters

TESTS THIS WEEK:

  • Tuesday – Reading, “Invasion From Mars”
  • Wednesday – Math Chapter 2
  • Thursday – Memory quiz
  • Friday – Spelling
