Hello, Everyone, and welcome to another week here at Trinity! We have many things going on and several class updates to share.
7th Social Studies
Before I go into the class updates, I just have to say what a joy it was to accompany the 7th grade on their trip to Koinonia. We had a great time and the children were fantastic representatives of not only Trinity, but of your families as well. In class this week, we will be finishing up chapter 2. They will study the Dutch and French explorers, and we will begin reviewing the chapter. The Chapter 2 test will be next Tuesday, October 27th. You may view the study guide here.
8th Social Studies
Eighth grade will also be finishing up the unit of study this week. They will learn about the end of the Reconstruction period and the lasting effects of the decisions that were made, many of which were not resolved until almost 100 years later. There will be a test on chapter 16 next Tuesday, October 27th. You may view the study guide here.
8th Pre-Algebra
This week the students will be moving into a new unit of study in which we will begin the early stages of algebraic equations. They will work with the distance and rate formulas and will begin working with proportional linear equations.
8th Religion
This week the students will be presenting the Tough Times Took Kit projects. The topics they have selected are not only timely and interesting, but cover a wide range of contemporary social issues. The goal of the projects this year to help the students learn the skills to apply their Biblical knowledge and faith to real world situations. The memory verse for this week is Romans 8:28, which is on page 25 of the student book, or here.
Miscellaneous Updates
- Picture Day is Tuesday, October 20th.
- Please return any Kid’s Stuff books that have not been returned.
- Homework Club (previously called Peer Tutoring) begins Tuesday, October 20th.
- Open House is Saturday, October 24th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Spread the word about all of the good things Trinity has to offer!
