The nursery students are adjusting nicely to their new school environment. They are having fun playing and interacting with their new teachers and classmates.
We are reviewing the rules for school, playground rules and using our manners.
In class this week we are:
Art Projects: Finishing our I AM SPECIAL books. We are also finishing up our unit on the senses. This week we are hearing with our ears and tasting with our mouths. We will complete an I hear with my ears and taste with my mouth sheet.
Language Arts: Some of the books the teacher will be sharing with the students are: The Five Senses: Hearing by Rebecca Rissman, You Hear With Your Ears by Melvin and Gilda Berger, Senses in My World by Martha Rustad to name a few.
We are learning about letters and letter sounds while working with our alphabet chart.
Jesus Time: God gives me a mouth to taste and ears to hear. God Knows My Name by Debby Anderson. Some songs we are learning are: The B-I-B-L-E, My God is so great and Jesus’ love is bubbling over.
Movement to Music: Seasons song, What a miracle, Walking to the ABCs, and the train song. We are listening to the sounds different musical instruments make with our ears.
Science: We are learning about the seasons and the signs of autumn.
Math: We are counting.
Reminders: Please send in any necessary paperwork needed by the teacher. For example, emergency card, volunteer sheet, family story and two pictures.
Next week both nursery classes will be visiting White Post Farms. Ms. Dugan and Mrs. Gallo’s class will visit on Thursday, 10/1 and Mrs. Krass’ class will visit on Friday, 10/2.
Parent Night will be on Tuesday evening, 10/20 @ 7:30 PM. Hope to see you all there!
