Welcome to First Grade!
We have had a great start to the school year! The class is working well together. We welcome Jaidon, Laila, London, and Javar to our school! They have adjusted so well to their new surroundings. We have already celebrated 2 birthdays in our class. Happy Birthday to Carson and Abigail!
I will be posting our class news, as well as test dates and what we are doing academically each week. You can access them from the Trinity website. I will update the notes at the beginning of each week. There will be important information in my notes so please be sure to check them. If you can’t access a computer and need a hard copy each week let me know. Once you have viewed my notes online for the first time, please send me an email ([email protected]) letting me know that you will have access each week.
This week we will be reviewing reading skills that we learned last year, and assessing what level the children are at as they begin first grade. We will begin our reading series (Journeys) next week and there will be spelling lists and tests weekly.
There will be a Math workbook coming home most nights for homework. The pages that the children need to complete will have the page numbers circled.
I am looking forward to speaking to all the parents at Back to School Night on Thursday, September 24th! I will be talking about classroom routines, schedules, and discipline.
