READING – We will combine lessons 22 and 23 this week and discover how things change when one is growing up and what steps to follow to plant and grow plants. Our high frequency words are: said, was, then, could, ate, good, she, all, over, when, her, and some. In phonics we’ll blend using “x,” “j,” and the short “e” sounds. In grammer new pronouns, “they,” “it,” “I,” “she,” “he,” and “we” will be introduced, and we’ll discuss proper nouns for  days and months.

MATH- Chapter 11 teaches measurement. Students will compare lengths, heights, and weights using the terms longer, shorter, same lenght, taller, shorter, same height, heavier, lighter, and same weight. We will have a test next TUESDAY, 6/9.

RELIGION – Jesus talks of heaven and tells us that heaven will be a wonderful place, is our topic this week.

SCIENCE – We will complete our study of butterflies as we wait for our caterpillars to metamorphosis. We also planted squash for the Trinity Community Garden and are keeping  plant journals of each plant’s growth.

SOCIAL STUDIES – Our focus is on jobs people do.

HANDWRITING – Printing letters “x,” and “j” is our  writing task.

JOURNAL – We will write “Field day was fun” as we express it in words and original drawings.
