Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!

It is hard to believe that there are less than 3 weeks of school left! The school year went so fast! We still have some more learning to do:

Spelling- There is a Spelling test on Wednesday for list 27. The new words for lesson 28 are: my, try, sky, by, fly, dry, pie, cried, night, light. The test on list 28 will be given next Wednesday.

Language Arts- The test on “What Can You Do?” is this Wednesday. For the Phonics part of the test, the children must know the rules to add –er and –est to words (change a Y to an I, or double the consonant). They should also know how to break a word into syllables (2 syllable words with
-le ending). We will then begin lesson 28 and read the story “The Kite”. The tests for lesson 28 will be given next Wednesday.

Math- We will be practicing skills to get us ready for second grade!

Science- We have been studying the chapter on “Day and Night Sky”. I will test the children on chapter 11 this Thursday. Study sheets were sent home last week.

Social Studies- Symbols of our country
Test on unit 5 next week- book will be
sent home to study

Religion- God Blesses Us; God is Great
