Spring is in the Air…(News from the Art Room)

Creativity is definitely blossoming this Spring in the art room.  Down in the lower level of the school you’ll see some of the most beautiful tulips that have been sketched and water-colored by our hard-working Second Graders!  Just a few feet away hang the brightest, most colorful acrylic paintings.  These were created by the Art Elective class and were inspired by the style of artist W. Kandinsky who was known for his colorful abstract paintings of shapes.

After learning about cool and warm colors the Grade One classes fashioned together lovely purple/blue and yellow/orange hyacinth flowers which they made out of crumbled tissue paper.  You will get to view these beautiful blossoms as they will adorn the windowsills of our gym during the concert, musical and play.

Our ECC classes enjoyed an insightful lesson on the plants, foods and animals of our world’s rainforest regions.  Mrs. Kerwin was so proud of her youngest students as they recalled so many details in their watercolor paintings!
