This week in the nursery classes we began our nursery rhyme unit. We are learning about rhyming words and some of us can already identify rhyming words! We are also waiting patiently for our caterpillars to arrive, so we can begin our caterpillar/butterfly unit.

Art Projects: Mother’s day surprises… top secret! We made an old lady who swallowed a fly along with some other silly things.

Language Arts: There Was An Old Lady Who swallowed A Fly (big book) by Simms Taback, The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle and Pooh’s Favorite Thing About Spring by Kathleen W. Zoenfeld. Alphabet center.

Jesus Time: Jesus is our good shepherd, People of His Pasture by Carol Greene.

Math: Counting  the number of flies over the old lady’s head and number recognition. Number bingo and number bean bags. Count our friends and days on the calendar.

Technology: SMART table.

FYI: Our class trips will be to the park on May 18 and May 19. Notices will be sent home shortly. Parents accompany their child and  meet the teachers and  classmates at the park.
