Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week:
Spelling- The new words for this week are: look, book, good, hook, brook, took, foot, shook, wood, hood. The children will write their 10 spelling words 3x each for homework Monday night. They should write 10 sentences that will be due on Wednesday. Use at least 5 words in each sentence. Spelling Test will be on Friday.
Phonics- oo words
Language Arts- possessive nouns
Reading: We will read the story Whistle for Willie. The children will read the story again at home. There will be Reading tests on Friday.
Math- halves, fourths
We will finish Chapter 12 this week. The test will be on Thursday. It is the last chapter in our Math book! The rest of the year we will be practicing all the concepts learned this year, so we are ready for 2nd grade!
Science- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Social Studies- Book 5: Our Government
Weekly Reader- Insects

Please remember to check your child’s homework every evening, making sure it is completed and done correctly, then sign or initial each page, (including the “S” book)! Encourage your child to complete all work in their neatest handwriting.
Book order forms went home last week. You can order books online at Scholastic.com using our class code, or send your order form and check to school by Tuesday.
Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday at noon!
