Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week:

Spelling- The new words for this week are: her, fern, girl, sir, stir, bird, fur, hurt, turn, third. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework Monday night. They should write 8 sentences, due by Wednesday. Spelling Test will be on Friday.

Phonics- er, ir, ur words

Reading: We will read the story, Amazing Animals this week. The children will read the story again at home. The vocabulary words are: baby, begins, eight, follow, learning, until, years, young. The Reading tests will be given on Friday.

Math- 2D shapes

Science- weathering; erosion

Social Studies- Test on Unit 4

Weekly Reader- Earth Day

1AA News

Our Reader of the week is Alyssa!

The Citizen of the Month for Honesty is Julia!

The first graders will be doing the chapel service again this Wednesday, and parents are welcome to come to the service at 8:40.

The 3rd quarter ended last week. Report cards will be available to see online next week. Can you believe it is already the 4th quarter of the school year? We still have lots to learn in first grade. Hopefully spring weather will come and stay so we can get outside for recess!

Encourage your child to complete all work in his/her neatest handwriting.

Book order forms will go home this week. You can order books online at Scholastic.com or send your order form and check to school.

Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday at noon!
