Second Grade Notes
Week of September 15th
WELCOME!!
We are off to an amazing start in 2AA! We have been very busy and learning so much already. Each week I will post some important information here that will help you better understand what is happening in our classroom.

I am so excited to work with all of you this school year.
Curriculum
Math: We will continue with Chapter One. We will focus on different ways to write and name numbers. We will be completing Chapter One this Friday. Next Monday we will review and Tuesday (September 23rd) we will have our Chapter One Math Test.
Reading: Our story this week is My Family. We will focus on the vocabulary as well as the skill of comparing and contrasting.
Phonics and Spelling: We will focus on words with short vowels o,u, and e. Our spelling words this week will also have these short vowel sounds.
Grammar: Reviewing subject and predicate as well as focusing on what a complete sentence is.
Writing: This week we will focus on the five parts of a Friendly Letter.
Science and Social Studies: I am hoping to introduce our study of Science and Social Studies at the end of this week.
Important Reminders
• This Tuesday, September 16th, is Back to School Night. I am looking forward to seeing all of you on Tuesday night at 7:00.
• Please remember to send all pizza envelopes in by Thursday morning.
