I’m reflecting on where we have come so far in this 4th grade school year. For teachers, every year brings new joys and new challenges, and this year is no different. What does stand out for me thus far is facing those challenges with such a special group of kids and experiencing the joy with each of them. WOW, they are growing as students and people and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for these kids. I celebrated my birthday with the class on Friday and couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the day. Thanks to all of the 4th grade families for sending me this group of children to learn from me and teach me a thing or two along the way!
WEEK: March 29 – April 2
This is a short week and so we will take a little break from the traditional subject areas to focus on Easter and the Resurrection. I have a series of stories for children that will retell the sacrifice Jesus made for us to read, discuss, and write about. We are going to do some fraction review activities. When we return from our Spring break, we will continue with multiplying fractions so it’s important to keep the foundation of what we have covered so far. We will be finishing the novel, “Sarah, Plain and Tall.” The chapter questions the students have been doing will count as a Reading test grade.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Our spring recess is from 4/1 – 4/11. Wishing you all a blessed Easter!
- Mrs. Lanier and Mrs. Yee have coordinated a special Easter treat for the class. Thanks for making March such a special month.
