I hope everyone had a wonderful time attending WINGO on Friday. Mr. Perovich said it was a wonderful event. I am so sorry that I was unable to attend.
Mr. DeVries sent a note home last week regarding singing in the Spring Concert on June 7th. I am looking forward to hearing everyone sing and play their instruments.
And speaking of instruments… Memorial Day is on Monday, May 30th. The children have been practicing, and they are so excited to be marching in the parade. This week, the band will be practicing everyday by marching up and down Nicholai St. I know they are going to be great in the parade!
I submitted the Scholastic book order last Tuesday, and the books should be arriving this week.
Homework is dwindling, and we will only be having math homework this week.
Math: We are working on the last chapter in Math. It is geometry, and it covers a lot of vocabulary. Our test will be on Wednesday, June 1st.
ELA: We are reading The Tale of Despereaux in class, and the children are enjoying hearing about the antic of a large rat, named Chiaroscuro, who left the dungeon because he was attracted to light. This week, the children will learn about Miggery Sow, the third main character in our story.
Science: We are continuing our study of clouds and predicting the weather.
Social Studies We are focusing on ways to travel, including trails, rivers, wagons trains, railroads, highways, and airplanes.
Religion There are no more religion memory tests for the rest of the school year.
