I can’t believe that it is our last full week of school! I’m so proud of how much the children have grown this year. I will certainly miss them as they move on to 4th Grade.
The children had a great time at Field Day! A big shout out to Mr. Mallon and all the parent-volunteers who made it a huge success. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
Thank you to the PTFA for the wonderful picnic, including the ice cream truck. The children and I really appreciated it. Thank you also to everyone who volunteered.
On Tuesday, we are having our Spring Concert. Band students should follow the instructions in Mr. Stainkamp’s note and everyone else should follow Mr. DeVries’s note. The children have been working hard, and I am sure that they are going to do great at the concert. After the concert, the children should be picked up at our classroom.
In ELA, we are working on prepositional phrases, words that are spelled with -er and -le, and reviewing adverbs. We are still reading The Tale of Despereaux.
In Math, we are getting ready for next year by my multiplying and dividing by 11 and 12. We are also modeling dividing with remainders. Then we will explore modelling tenths and hundredths.
In Science, we are doing mini lessons on various topics including black holes, germs, leap year, and how video games are made.
Social Studies we are learning about immigration and the Homestead Act.
In Religion, we are learning about how the grace of God comes to us through Baptism and Holy Communion.
