Week 20
“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” – Nelson Mandela
This week we will be taking the ELA and Math benchmark tests all week. There is nothing to study for on these tests. Please just make sure that your child gets a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast each the morning. Homework will be light all week.
We will be singing in chapel on Sunday, January 27th at the 9:00 service. A note from Mr. DeVries was sent home three weeks ago. Please make sure that you contact him with any questions. I am looking forward to seeing you all on that day.
Scholastic book order forms are going home this week. Please make sure they are returned by Tuesday, January 29th. You can always order books online by going to Scholastic.com/readingclub and using our classrooom code GZBYH.
Math
We are continuing our work with division. We are having our chapter 7 quiz on Wednesday. Additionally, fluency sheets are going home every day.
ELA
We are going to be working on informational reports. This week students will be choosing whom they would like to do a report on. Additionally, we will be coming up with some goals to work on.
Social Studies
We are learning about the government of Canada.
Religion
We are studying why Jesus needs to be the true God. I have also included the link here for Third Grade Memory Work and due dates. Our Wednesday test is on The Fifth Commandment.
The Fifth Commandment
You shall not murder.
What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not hurt or harm our neighbor in his body, but help and support him in every physical need.
