“All things good to know are difficult to learn.” – Greek Proverb
This is the last week in the first trimester. The ELA tests this week will count as part to the second trimester.
On Wednesday, we are going on a virtual field trip to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. We will be learning about Insect Survival. During this museum-educator-led program, students virtually explore what makes an insect an insect, and why they are so successful (insects have more species and live in more places than any other animal!). Students will investigate and identify the survival techniques of the Carolina Sphinx Moth and the Tobacco Hornworm, exploring their adaptations using the scientific skills of observation and sketching.
Math
We are working on Chapter 5 this week. Children should be practicing their multiplication facts. Taking the time to memorize multiplication facts in 3rd grade is so important to your child’s success in Math in future grades. Please review them nightly.
