Week 31
The “stuffed” animal reports were wonderful. They were full of information and the children did a great job presenting them to the class.
Mr. DeVries has been practicing lines with the students for our Spring musical. Please continue to practice the lines with your child at home.
Our field trip to Safety Town is on Tuesday, May 1st. I will be sending home a reminder notice.
We are having a Sing Along on Friday May 4th. This is similar to last year’s event. We are raising money for Long Island Cares. This event takes place during the school day, and I encourage all the students to attend. The cost is $3.00.
Permission slips are going home this week for our field trip to Old Westbury Gardens. Please return them as soon as possible. No money is being collected for this trip.
As previously mentioned, the students now have access to Journeys, Go Math and Science. If you need help logging in from home, please contact me and I will send you the specific information.
Students who take instrument lessons need to remember to bring their instruments to school for both lessons and orchestra (2 times a week).
Math
We are beginning our chapter on measurement. The first section is on time. I encourage you to please spend some time (no pun intended) with your child practicing telling time using an analog clock. While digital clocks are everywhere, it is necessary to spend the time learning how to read an analog clock. I have assigned extra animated practice on TC.Trinityli.org. Additionally, students can always look at the reteach pages online. We are having the quiz on time on Monday, April 30th.
