This Week in Art

ECC  — For the next few classes we will be making our own Polar Bear Masks.  This week we will paint our bear’s nose.

Kindergarten — Our class will finish up their Daytime/Nighttime drawings this week.

Gr. 1 — After learning about the American artist W. Homer we will paint a scene using watercolors making sure we leave some white areas on the paper.

Gr. 2 — Mrs. Kerwin will give us a tour of our church’s crosses.  We are going to play a game to see if we can count all the crosses in the church.

Gr. 3 — This class will also take a tour of our church’s beautiful stained glass windows.  There are so many different kinds of stained glass to see.

Gr 4 — We have been practicing our figure drawing and now we will get a chance to try our hand at fashion design. The class will dress up their figure drawings with their original designs. We might even have some aspiring fashion designers in the Fourth Grade class!

Gr. 5 — Our Fifth Graders have been working on their Creative Creature pictures.  I can’t wait to see the creative creature concoctions they come up with.

Gr. 6 — This week the students will design their own sports jerseys.  They will think of an original team name and fashion forward design to go with it.

Gr. 7 — Hopefully this week we will get comfortable and in the rhythm of weaving on a cardboard loom.

Gr. 8 — This class will start their Rotational Symmetry Name Design project this week.  A class favorite!

Art Elective — We are still painting our tiles using acrylic paints.  This project has also been a lesson on color blending and tint.

Keep Creating and Enjoy Your Week!
