REMINDERS:
- It’s hard to believe, but we are officially in the 4th quarter!
- 1st Grade will be hosting Chapel this Wednesday. Please feel free to join us! Chapel starts at 8:45.
- Encourage your child to READ every night to strengthen their skills. Don’t forget you can have them read all different things – the back of a cereal box, a favorite book, a magazine, a comic book, a card, posters. Everything counts as practice!
- Please be sure to check and sign all your child’s homework each night. This is to make sure that your child understands the concepts being taught in class. It is also important that your child’s work is neat and accurate. Encourage your child to do their best work!

4/24 – Reading Tests: Comprehension, Vocabulary, Phonics (r-controlled vowel er, ir, ur), Spelling

READING: We will be reading the story Amazing Animals this week. We will be focusing on conclusions and using context.
LANGUAGE ARTS: We will be working on the pronouns I and me and writing story sentences.
PHONICS: r-controlled vowel er, ir, ur
MATH: We will be working on Chapter 12 – Two Dimensional Geometry
RELIGION: We will be working on Jesus Saves
SCIENCE: We will be working on Chapter 6 – Land, Water, and Air
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will taking the test for Unit 4
SPELLING: her, fern, girl, sir, stir, bird, fur, hurt, turn, third
Your child should be writing the spelling words 3x each by Tuesday and 8 sentences using 8 words by Wednesday every week for homework.
