REMINDERS:
- It’s hard to believe, but the 3rd quarter will be ending on April 16th!
- Encourage your child to READ every night to strengthen their skills. Don’t forget you can have them read all different things – the back of a cereal box, a favorite book, a magazine, a comic book, a card, posters. Everything counts as practice!
- Please be sure to check and sign all your child’s homework each night. This is to make sure that your child understands the concepts being taught in class. It is also important that your child’s work is neat and accurate. Encourage your child to do their best work!
TESTS THIS WEEK:
We will be resuming Friday testing this week.
4/17 – Reading Tests: Comprehension, Vocabulary, Phonics (r-controlled vowel ar, r-controlled vowels or, ore), Spelling
The Social Studies Test for Unit 4 will be changed. We will give the test after the break and a note will be sent home with the new date.
CHAPTERS BEING COVERED THIS WEEK:
READING: We will be reading Frog and Toad Together this week. We will be focusing on story structure and repetition.
LANGUAGE ARTS: We will be working on subject pronouns and writing story sentences.
PHONICS: r-controlled vowel ar, r-controlled vowels or, ore, Phonograms – ar, -ore
MATH: We will be starting Chapter 12 – Two Dimensional Geometry
RELIGION: We will be working on Jesus’ Miracles
SCIENCE: We will be working on Chapter 6 – Land, Water, and Air
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will be reviewing Unit 4 – All About Work
SPELLING: far, arm, yard, art, jar, bar, barn, bark, card, yard.
Your child should be writing the spelling words 3x each by Tuesday and 8 sentences using 8 words by Wednesday every week for homework.
