REMINDERS:
- Encourage your child to READ every night to strengthen their skills. Don’t forget you can have them read all different things – the back of a cereal box, a favorite book, a magazine, a comic book, a card, posters. Everything counts as practice!
- In order to help your child in math, it would be helpful to practice the basic addition facts daily, especially the doubles facts. This will help them to work quicker and more accurately.
- Trinity’s Open House is this Saturday from 12-2pm. If you know anyone that is interested in our school this would be a great opportunity for them to check it out!
- The end of the second quarter is January 28th. The report cards will be available for viewing online on Feb 6th.

CHAPTERS BEING COVERED THIS WEEK:
READING: We will be reading “Seasons”. We are focusing on cause and effect and sound words.
LANGUAGE ARTS: Subjects and verbs, informative writing, and developing ideas.
PHONICS: We are working on the digraphs sh, wh ph, and words ending in -s, -ed, -ing.
MATH: We will be starting Chapter 8 – Two Digit Addition and Subtraction
RELIGION: We will be working on Unit 6 – The Savior Comes
SCIENCE: We will be starting Chapter 4 – Life Cycles
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will be working on Unit 3 – Life Long Ago
SPELLING: ship, shop, which, when, whip, fish, down, green, open, fall, grow, yellow, goes, new
***Please note that there are 8 “R” book words, but we are only using 6 of them for our spelling test this week. Next week and thereafter, we will include all 8 words on the spelling for a total of 14 words on the spelling tests***
