This week the class has been given new Spelling Homework Menus stapled into their notebooks for the third marking quarter.  Please be sure to review the choices at home.  Three assignments should be completed each week and the crossed out on the menu card.  Spelling will continue to be checked on Thursdays.

Week:  February 1-5

Spelling: risky, track, topic, blank, question, pocket, monkey, junk, equal, ache, public, attack, struck, earthquake, picnic, banker, electric, blanket, mistake, stomach Challenge: request, skeleton, peculiar, attic, reckless

Grammar: Quiz on irregular verbs; adjectives

Reading: Anchor text, “Riding Freedom”; informational text, “Spindletop”; vocabulary: escorted, swelled, relied, reputation, worthy, churning, situation, deserve, defended, satisfied

Writing: narrative writing; descriptive paragraphs

Math: compare and order fractions, review for text on Chapter 6.

Science:   Ch. 9 Lesson 2 How do weathered material move?

Social Studies:  Review for test on chapter 6

Religion: daily devotions, weekly Dear God letters

TESTS THIS WEEK:

  • Thursday –  Memory Quiz
  • Friday – Spelling; Math Chapter 6

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Math Extra Help FRIDAY this week at 7:45
  • This Friday will be my annual 4th Grade Superbowl Party.  The class will be graphing information using team records, writing NFL stories and researching the history of football.  I will provide some fun snacks for this event!
