October is here and so is the season of spooky creatures and stories. Over the next few weeks, we will be learning about some real life spooky creatures in class.
This week we will learn about bats, those spooky creatures of the night. We will learn more about what it means to be a nocturnal animal like a bat, the life and habitat of bats and all about echolocation- the way bats ‘see’ in the dark. We will sing the fingerplay, “Five Little Bats,” play the echolocation game, create a paper roll bat that flies, read stories about bats and create art inspired by bats. It should be a week that is just batty!
In conjunction with bats, the other core concepts that we will explore this week are letter Cc, the number 5, the shape of a rhombus, and the color brown. Our ABCs of Faith words for the week are: C is for Christ, Cross, Caring and Courage. We will be singing, “My God Is So Great” and “Praise Him” at Jesus Time this week.
